Tasting Notes: Deep violet colour. Ripe fruit of the forest (cranberry and blackberry) on a natural wood background; slightly toasty, smoked or even balsamic notes. Broad and elegant on the palate, where fruity, toasty flavours reappear. The tannin content is just right and is backed by well-balanced acidity. Long aftertaste. Intense, complex finish recalling dark-roast, cocoa and liquorice. Decantation and aeration recommended.
Serve at: 16-17 °C, preferably in a large Bordeaux-style glass.
Best to accompany: Roast meats, game dishes, stews, traditional cold meats and mature cheeses.
